What is DC06ED Enameling Steel?
If you need extra ultra deep drawing capability combined with direct-on (one-coat) enameling, titanium stabilization, and enhanced dent resistance, DC06ED is the premium specialized grade you should consider.
DC06ED is a cold-rolled low carbon steel specifically optimized for direct-on enameling process (ED suffix) with stamping level 06 (extra ultra deep drawing). With ultra-low carbon (≤0.008%), titanium stabilization (≤0.15%), and the lowest manganese content (≤0.35%) among ED grades, it enables excellent enamel adhesion directly to the steel surface without a ground coat while offering superior formability, aging resistance, and enhanced dent resistance.
When you use DC06ED, you benefit from the cost savings of one-coat enameling, exceptional formability for the most complex parts, consistent surface quality after firing, and minimal rejects due to fish scaling or poor adhesion. No stretcher strain marks appear during use as per GB/T 13790-2025 Table 7.
Typical applications include direct-on enameled water heater tanks, complex sanitary ware, bathtubs, household enamelware, industrial components, and extra ultra deep drawn anti-denting applications.
DC06ED consists of four parts:
- D — Steel flat product for cold forming
- C — Cold rolled condition
- 06 — Stamping level: Extra ultra deep drawing (Level 06)
- ED — Enamelling type: Suitable for direct-on (one-coat) enameling process and anti-denting requirements; also suitable for traditional enameling
- Ultra-low carbon (≤0.008%) + Titanium stabilization (≤0.15%)
- Lowest manganese (≤0.35%) for maximum formability
- Direct-on (one-coat) enameling capability
- Enhanced dent resistance for anti-denting applications
- Extra ultra deep drawability (stamping level 06)
- High plastic strain ratio r90 ≥1.8 (0.50-2.00mm)
- No stretcher strain marks during use (Table 7)
- Hydrogen permeation validated (TH ≥6.7)
- Direct-on (one-coat) enameling
- Anti-denting applications
- Traditional two-coat enameling (also suitable)
- Extra ultra deep drawn complex components
- Excellent enamel adhesion (ultra-low carbon)
- Proven fish-scale resistance (TH ≥6.7)
- Enhanced dent resistance
- Titanium stabilized for aging resistance
- Extra ultra deep drawing capability
- No stretcher strain marks during use

- 7.1.2 – Permissible deviations for product chemical analysis shall comply with GB/T 222.
- 7.2.1 – Mechanical properties guaranteed for 6 months from manufacture date as per Table 6.
- 7.2.2 – Due to aging effects, properties may change over time; early use is recommended. Titanium stabilization provides superior aging resistance.
- 7.3.1 – Skin-passing is applied, but stretcher strain tendency may reappear; titanium-stabilized grades have better resistance.
- 7.3.2 / Table 7 – For DC06ED: no stretcher strains shall appear under room temperature storage during use.
- 7.4.1 – Hydrogen permeation test may be carried out upon agreement to evaluate fish-scale resistance.
- 7.4.2 – Adhesion test may be performed upon agreement; pretreatment and enameling conditions shall be stated in contract.
- 7.4.3 – Enamelability evaluation tests are recommended for first-time use or when enamel frit/process changes.
🔬 7.4.1 Anti-fishscale (Hydrogen permeation test)
