What is DC06ED Enameling Steel?

DC06ED is a premium cold rolled low carbon steel specifically optimized for direct-on (one-coat) enameling process with stamping level 06 (extra ultra deep drawing). With ultra-low carbon (≤0.008%), titanium stabilization (≤0.15%), and lowest manganese (≤0.35%), it enables excellent enamel adhesion directly to the steel surface without a ground coat while offering superior formability, aging resistance, and enhanced dent resistance.

No stretcher strain marks appear during use per GB/T 13790-2025 Table 7. Typical applications include direct-on enameled water heater tanks, complex sanitary ware, bathtubs, and extra ultra deep drawn anti-denting components.

According to GB/T 13790—2025 Cold rolled low carbon steel sheet and strip for vitreous enamelling Supersedes GB/T 13790—2008
Technical Data Sheet — Grade DC06ED (Direct-On Enameling / Extra Ultra Deep Drawing / Ti-Stabilized)
📌 Designation System Clause 4.2

DC06ED consists of four parts:

  • D — Cold forming steel flat product
  • C — Cold rolled condition
  • 06 — Stamping level: Extra ultra deep drawing (Level 06)
  • ED — Direct-on enameling process with anti-denting requirements; also suitable for traditional enameling
📖 ED suffix indicates direct-on enameling with enhanced dent resistance. DC06ED is titanium-stabilized with ultra-low carbon (≤0.008%) for excellent enamel adhesion without a ground coat.
📊 DC06ED vs Other Enameling Grades
1️⃣ vs DC06EK
DC06EK: Traditional enameling (C ≤0.008%, Ti)
DC06ED: Direct-on enameling + Anti-denting, enhanced dent resistance, one-coat capability
2️⃣ vs DC04ED
DC04ED: Extra deep drawing (C ≤0.004%, no Ti)
DC06ED: Extra ultra deep drawing + Ti stabilization, better aging resistance
3️⃣ Key Advantages
  • Ultra-low carbon (≤0.008%) + Ti stabilization
  • Direct-on one-coat enameling
  • Enhanced dent resistance
  • r90 ≥1.8, no stretcher strains during use
💡 DC06ED offers the highest formability among ED grades with extra ultra deep drawing, enhanced dent resistance, and no stretcher strain marks during use.
